Sprinkler Plus has winterized irrigation systems across the Tri-Cities since 2015. We carefully clear each zone, drain the exposed components, and shut the system down correctly so trapped water is less likely to become a costly spring repair.

What a Winter Blowout Helps Prevent

Water Trapped in Lines

Standing water expands as it freezes and can split underground PVC, fittings and lateral lines.

Cracked Valves

Water left inside valve bodies can freeze, crack the housing and create expensive leaks at spring startup.

Backflow Damage

The exposed backflow assembly is especially vulnerable and costly to replace after a hard freeze.

Freeze Damage

Damage often stays hidden all winter and appears as flooding, weak pressure or dead zones in spring.

Incomplete Blowouts

Clearing only the closest heads can leave water trapped in longer runs and low points.

Controller Left Running

A controller that remains active can attempt to water after the system has been drained and shut down.

Winter Blowout FAQs

How much does a winter blowout cost?
A standard Winter Blowout starts at $95 and covers sprinkler systems with up to 5 valves. Additional valves are $8 each. Systems with valves larger than 1 inch or unusually long runs require different scheduling and pricing; call the office before booking.
When should I schedule my winter blowout?
Schedule before the first major freeze, typically during October or early November in the Tri-Cities. Appointments fill quickly as freezing weather approaches.
Is my winter blowout warrantied?
Winter blowouts completed before the first major freeze are warrantied. Appointments performed after the first major freeze are not eligible because freeze damage may already have occurred.
What is included in a winter blowout?
We identify and clear every sprinkler zone with controlled compressed air, drain the backflow assembly and mainline, shut down the controller, and report visible system concerns.
Do I need to be home?
Yes. Please be available so the technician can access the controller, valve boxes and water shutoff, confirm the system layout, and collect payment at the time of service.
Can you winterize large or unusual irrigation systems?
Yes, but systems with valves larger than 1 inch, long zone runs, fields, orchards or pastures need the correct equipment and scheduling. Call (509) 502-3001 before booking so we can confirm the right service.
